Randy Best is a successful entrepreneur and businessman with a long record of achievement. While attending college at Lamar University, he first became an entrepreneur. He has, since then, founded or acquired over one-hundred private or public businesses in many fields, including healthcare, defense and aerospace, agriculture, oil and gas, food, publishing, education, and real estate industries. The career that began in his college days has never really slowed but has grown stronger over the years.

The first half of Randy Best’s career was defined by his founding or acquisition of successful companies. In the second half of his career, however, he has sought to shift focus towards entrepreneurial endeavors, which also have a social mission. Randy Best has focused his efforts on education and the welfare of children.

For much of his life, Randy Best struggled with dyslexia. This made both his education and his professional career more difficult to advance. Still, he persevered and by hard work he overcame this obstacle. To help others do the same, Randy Best founded a national initiative, which was designed to help students learn to read. Now, this program helps over three million inner-city students to read each year.
Randy Best then turned his focus to higher education and founded a company to help state universities increase access for underserved high-need populations. He also founded an international higher education company focused on bringing affordable, high quality college-level education to students in the developing world.
